गत फागुनमा सोही स्थानमा सुख्खा पहिरो जाँदा दरमखोला थुनिएको थियो । वर्खा लागेपछि पहिरोको कटान झन बढ्दै जाँदा माथि रहेको बस्ती नै अन्यत्र सार्नुपर्ने अवस्था देखिएको छ । पहिरोले ८ घर र नजिकैको विद्यालयमा असर पारेको थियो थप वर्षापछि पहिरो झन थपियो, बस्तीकै छेउबाट ३०० मिटर तल सम्म पहिरो खसेकाले बस्ती नै स्थानान्तरण गर्नुपर्ने अवस्था आएको वडाध्यक्ष डम्बर श्रीसले बताए । पहिरोको जोखिम कम गर्न र स्थानीय बासिन्दाको सुरक्षित बासको लागि वडा कार्यालयले पहल गर्ने उनले बताए ।
दरमखोला नै थुन्ने गरी गत फागुनमा पहिरो गए यता स्थानीयवासी त्रासमा छन् । पानी पर्नासाथ खसिरहने पहिरोले मध्यपहाडी लोकमार्गको यात्रासमेत असहज पारिदिएको छ । दैनिकजसो अवरोध खुलाउँदै सवारी साधन चलाउनुपर्ने बाध्यता छ । यात्रु पनि जोखिमपूर्ण यात्रा गर्न बाध्य छन् । पहिरोले ठूलो क्षेत्रफल ओगटेको हुँदा तत्काल रोकथामको उपाय अपनाउन पनि कठिन देखिन्छ ।
लोकमार्गको स्तरोन्नतिको क्रममा यो वर्ष भएको सडक विस्तारका कारण पनि वर्षा लागेसँगै ठाउँठाउँमा पहिरो गएको छ । पहिरोले मनेवा फाँटको सिँचाइलाई पनि प्रभावित पारेको सोही ठाउँका किसान शेरबहादुर श्रीसले बताए । गत फागुनकै सुक्खा पहिराले ९० रोपनी क्षेत्रफलको मनेवा फाँट पुग्ने जलकुनी सिँचाइ आयोजना भत्केको थियो । श्रीसका अनुसार उक्त फाँटमा अहिले किसानले रोपाइँ समेत गर्न पाएनन ।
‘सिँचाइ नभएकाले सबै किसानले यो वर्ष धान नरोपी कोदो रोपेका छन्’ श्रीसले भने, ‘सिँचाइ रोकिँदा किसान मर्कामा परेका छन् ।’ गएको फागुन २२ गते सोही ठाउँमा गएको सुक्खा पहिरोले स्थानीय दरमखोला थुनिँदा ठूलो जलाशय बनेको थियो । स्थानीय बासिन्दाले राष्ट्रिय गौरवको आयोजना मध्यपहाडी लोकमार्गलाई समेत जोखिममा पारेको पहिरोको दीर्घकालीन रोकथाम हुनुपर्ने आवाज उठाएका छन् । उक्त लोकमार्ग हुँदै जिल्लाको पश्चिम भेग र छिमेकी जिल्लाका यात्रु समेत आवात जावत गर्दछन ।
